Your Thinking is Your Differentiator

Have you ever wondered why successful people across various fields practice meditation?

Do you meditate? What is your idea of meditation?

I first encountered meditation through yoga practice over 20 years ago.

I thought it was about BREATHING so that I could do a good yoga pose.

Later, I continued my yoga practice and expanded to try Yoga Nidra, Singing Bowl Sound Bath, Gong meditation, and a 10-day Vipassana silent retreat.

I thought meditation was about BEING PRESENT in the moment so that I could relax and release the tension from work and life.

Then two weeks ago, I got to experience Neuro-Reconditioning meditation with 8,300 people in Basel, Switzerland, guided by Dr Joe Dispenza.

Then I realized meditation is ultimately A TOOL FOR CHANGE we all can use.

Why Meditation is Essential NoW

You check your phone in the morning. You see some local and international news. When you check emails, social media, and search for information online, you are bombarded with loads of information.

You receive more than what you need and can process.

A handful of them are related to you. And 99% are not. Yet the world is changing so fast that you feel like you need to use your phone to catch up 24/7.

If you are not conscious, the information keeps loading into your brain.

And your thoughts are influenced by these noises without you knowing. Even though deep down you may not agree with them.

These noises get louder and louder now, through engagement-based social media feeds and AI content.

Often, these noises sound louder than your real thoughts and influence you to make decisions that you might not make with a clearer mind.

Change Starts with Our Thoughts

'Our brain is a predictable machine that shapes our beliefs based on past memories.' ~ Dr Joe Dispenza

My understanding is it’s pretty much like an algorithm that predicts what you want based on what you have been paying attention to.

If you don’t pause, review, and give feedback to the 'algorithm', you (choose to) receive the same kind of information based on your previous experiences, regardless of whether it is useful.

Yet if you pause to review and tell the 'algorithm' you are not interested in certain suggestions, you open up the space to receive new information.

You can then form new beliefs and make new decisions that work better for you in this moment.

A Skill for Life

Meditation can help you change your state of being so you can choose to think, feel, and act differently to get different results.

Even though I have practiced meditation in various forms for a long time, I still uncover something new that I can change for the better.

Using meditation to create change is not an overnight process. It’s an ongoing journey.

Just like why every organization needs annual and quarterly business reviews to become better and stronger so they can stand the test of time.

If meditation is part of your daily practice, that is great.

While I find no meditation works 100% of the time because my needs change, perhaps it's worthy to try different kinds of meditation to see what fits you best.

If you have never meditated, it could be one of the most important skills to equip now.

Especially now, when we are living in a world where the ground is constantly shifting and ready-made information is instantly available to almost everyone on the planet.

Your brain and your ability to think become the key differentiator.

This is my view added to your information basket.

It is time to take a breath now and decide what is relevant for you.
