Reading More BOOKS Won't HELP you BEAT AI if you don't Do One THING.
Do you find yourself reading many books?
Listening to numerous podcasts?
You must have learnt something inspiring. How wonderful!
And, do you find yourself applying the ideas? Or do you simply love hoarding them?
Most of us love accumulating stuff because it brings us a sense of comfort.
Hoarding ideas used to help us feel more confident and worthy.
Yet when AI can access infinite ideas on the planet, and most people can use them, hoarding ideas can no longer help us feel competent.
"Ideation without execution is delusion" Robin Sharma said.
That means knowing the ideas does not mean knowing how to apply them.
And the good news is: We can upgrade our capabilities if we turn ideas into action.
My Journey to Turn an idea on an INSTAGRAM post into my Skill

A few days before going for my personal retreat, a friend shared an Instagram post with me about a goal-setting technique called The Open Window 64 (OW64).
I found it fascinating, so I searched online to see if there are any books. There is, and I went to a bookstore to see if they have. They did, and I bought it and read it immediately.
The OW64 is the core part of the Harada Method taught by Takashi Harada. It is a goal-setting matrix that deconstructs one goal into 64 specific elements for success.
I was excited to tell my friend that I wanted to apply this newly learnt method to deconstruct our goals during our retreat. That honesty allows me to turn ideas into practice in front of others.
On top of that, I felt greater responsibility and purpose when using the ideas to serve others.
When I was running the exercise, I felt uncertain in the beginning. I often had to re-read and refer to the examples in the book to explain the method.
I was unsure if I was teaching the right thing to my friend, even though I had dug deeper into some videos/articles to deepen my understanding of the concepts beforehand.
However, the more I apply the technique, the more it forces me to think deeper, and I get clearer ideas of how the method works.
We spent 3 sessions doing that exercise for our 3 main goals of the year. Every time, we got deeper, better, and faster.
We feel so fulfilled to see the full picture of how to achieve our goals in a holistic and balanced manner.
Through turning an idea on an IG post into action, I learnt one more powerful tool to help others set and achieve their goals.
Have you learnt any good ideas in this post?
If so, teach the idea to someone so you can turn the idea into your capability.
Do you want to be an idea hoarder? Or an idea sharer? One you can’t beat AI. The other you can.
Do share with me if you really turn an idea into action.
Thanks for reading.
